Hi everyone, I’m Tara!
I’m so pleased you’re here at Namaste & Cake – a yoga and healthy lifestyle blog for real life!
I started Namaste and Cake with one goal in mind – to provide all of the resources and information you could possibly need to get started with yoga, all in one place (having struggled to find what I needed when I started myself!). I’m now expanding to include yoga posts to take you from beginner to intermediate, and some ideas for delicious, healthy food – mostly focusing on recipes that are very quick and very easy!
I’m not an expert (by any stretch of the imagination!), and I think that can be a good thing – because I really remember what it’s like to be a beginner, and know what’s it’s like to only have a tiny amount of free time in which to craft a healthy lifestyle. The posts on Namaste & Cake will never preach or intimidate, I want to keep things light, fun, and most of all realistic. You won’t find any fad diets here, pressure to look a certain way, or unrealistic expectations for your yoga practice!
I know what it’s like to struggle with multiple commitments, work, and a family. Often, committing to an extensive yoga regime, or spending hours perfecting a carrot cake, just isn’t possible! Trying to do everything perfectly, and be everything to everyone is a recipe for disaster. What we can do though, is just try our best to look after ourselves and our bodies.
Yoga is an amazing way to exercise your body and calm your mind. If you’re just starting out, be prepared to be amazed at how a little bit of yoga can make you feel a lot better. Eating well is another way of respecting ourselves and our bodies, and there are tons of easy and healthy recipes out there that actually are delicious too. And, make no mistake – we all need a bit of cake now and then too!! It’s all about balance, so don’t think that every recipe here will be full of quinoa and edamame beans!
Namaste & Cake is all about how you can look after yourself and enjoy it, in the real world.
I hope you find it helpful and fun!
P.S. I love getting messages, so please get in touch to let me know what you think and any ideas you have for what you’d like to see on Namaste & Cake! You can email me at [email protected]
